Basic Summer Style NO SEW DIY – Waterfall Drape Vest

One of my favorite pieces for summer is a cute vest to wear over a tee or tank. I’m particularly obsessed with draped vests (sometimes also called waterfall vests) because they drape so beautifully. It’s that drape that adds a touch of drama and makes this vest super flattering on any body type.

Draped vests are available in all types of fabric choices – from jersey for a super casual look over a summer tank with shorts – to a floaty chiffon that can go over a glitter tank and tuxedo pants for a more formal look.

Here’s how to make a cute, casual draped vest out of nothing but a men’s size XL T-shirt and a scissors – in less than 5 minutes! TRULY! Anyone with a shirt and a scissors can do this!

Lay the t-shirt out flat and cut off the sleeves and around the collar – where the red marks are.

That is literally it! Your arms go through the hole and the rest drapes beautifully over your hips and tummy.

You can also wrap it around and wear it as a scarf.

There’s nothing new about draped vests… they were popular a few years ago and it doesn’t appear that they are going anywhere any time soon! The super flattering versatility will surely keep them around!
